Mustafa Dursun

ASELSAN

Mustafa Dursun, PhD, is a software engineering leader and researcher specializing in real-time embedded systems, radar and electronic warfare software, and software architecture for mission-critical systems. He currently serves as Software Development Department Manager at ASELSAN, where he leads multiple engineering teams developing advanced software products. Dursun received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University, focusing on formal verification and model checking of real-time systems. During his doctoral studies, he was a visiting scholar at University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, working in the Cyber-Physical Systems Integration Laboratory. He later conducted postdoctoral research in high-performance computing at University of Basel in Switzerland.

Over more than two decades at ASELSAN, Dursun has contributed to the development of complex defense software systems across the entire lifecycle—from requirements engineering and architecture design to system integration and deployment. His professional interests include software architecture for complex cyber-physical systems, scalable real-time platforms, multi sensor data fusion systems, software product line engineering, formal verification and model checking, and advanced defense software engineering methodologies. As a technical leader, he has guided the architectural transformation of large-scale embedded software systems toward Modular Open Systems Architectures (MOSA) to improve modularity, portability, reliability, and reuse across product lines.
