We can’t do the same thing we’ve always done and expect better results. Innovation is the process of challenging our assumptions, methods, and deliverables in order to make meaningful change in the way capabilities are delivered. Innovation takes many forms across academic, industrial, and governmental aviation work, and has become a major force driving changes in aircraft function, airspace system capabilities, and operating procedures.
While these efforts provide opportunities to rapidly and dramatically change aviation innovation must be accompanied by accountability for solutions, systems, and protection of the public interest. How can you be accountable for innovation in your organization?
